Together, we can do better. You can help rebuild Georgia’s public health system.

Public health touches the lives of every Georgian. But our state’s public health system is threatened as never before after years of budget cuts. Today Georgia ranks near the bottom in state support for public health. Key positions are vacant… salaries are low and turnover is high… and prevention programs that can pay for themselves have been cut or are in jeopardy.

In June 2010, more than 200 health, business, government and community leaders from around the state joined “Partner Up! for Public Health,” to learn about the issues, possible solutions and how working as an advocate can make things better.

The presentations from Leadership Academies held in Tifton, Savannah, Rome and Athens are available here.

Whether conservative or liberal… urban or rural… rich or poor… all Georgians have a stake in public health because it can save lives and money.

Together, we can do better…and we must.
